SM wins 5 Anvil awards

The SM group won five Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines during the recent ceremonies at the Shangri-La EDSA Plaza Hotel.
These included three Awards of Excellence for the SM Supermalls Public Relations Program for People with Disability, the Generations Book, and the SM Investments Annual Report for 2008.
It also received two Awards of Merit for another SM Supermalls Public Relations Program, the SM Cares Breastfeeding Committee Program, and for SM Investments Corporation’s One SM Event.
The SM Supermalls Disability Program was cited for creating assistance and consciousness about the needs of persons with disabilities by providing a barrier free movement in all SM Malls as well as instituting changes in the attitude of stakeholders - employees, tenants, and customers resulting in SM Malls being known as PWD friendly establishments.
n of the Generations campaign for SM’s 50th Anniversary, showcasing how SM has become part of the lives of its customers, business partners, and employees. A memento of SM’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 2008, it also includes some winning entries of the My SM Story contest with the Philippine Star, and was launched during People Asia’s People of the Year Award ceremony in 2009. SM Investments Annual Report for 2008 also received an Award of Excellence for its design and content merits.
The SM Supermalls’ SM Cares Breastfeeding Committee Program was given an award of merit for educating expectant and new mothers who go to the malls on the benefits of breastfeeding and maternal causes. This was done by setting up breastfeeding stations in their malls nationwide, a pioneer initiative in the industry in support of the breastfeeding movement. SM Investments Corporation’s One SM campaign also received an Anvil Award of Merit.
The Anvil Award is a yearly program of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines to give honor to outstanding public relations programs and tools.
